Hi, thanks for your lists, I'm just startig to put together the soundtracks for S1 of the Wire.

For ep 1 I found an additional couple of tracks:

the tune towards the end when the stripper is trying to get D'angelo to buy her a drink is *Pull Up To The Bumper* by Grace Jones

the country tune in the bar when McNulty and Bunk are talking about McNulty's children is *Streets of Baltimore* this was originally by Bobby Bare but this version sounds to me more like the Gram Parsons one (there's a lot of versions, I come down on the side of Gram Parsons though)

so for ep 1 there's

Jay-Z
Bill Withers
Grace Jones
Gram Parsons

Just fyi- The version of "Dirty Old Town" (S1 E3) heard on the radio is not the Pogues but a version done by Pierce Turner. Ironically it's not even an Irish song... I'll bet McNulty doesn't know that!

This is a great list and I appreciate the effort put into it. However, I have a request! In episode 12 of season 1, the stripper is asked to where a wire in the club. There is a track thats very funky as she is putting on her make up, trying to get close to Avon's back room. If anyone can help, i'd be much obliged.

but I'll check it out.

I really need to update the links as I guess there will be a lot of dead ones among them by now.
